Hong Kong Summer International Film Festival

I was into really crappy music waaaaay back when. Avril Lavigne and Hilary Duff were basically the two I spent most of my time listening to. In the summer of 2005, I was obsessed with Hilary Duff's song Wake Up. Forgive me I was 11. I still listen to it though. I may even sing it in the shower sometimes. Youtube didn't exist back then so I downloaded the MV via Limewire and played it on repeat that summer. I loved it. So when I knew that 500 Days of Summer is directed by Marc Webb and Zooey Deschanel is the lead, it went straight on to my to-watch list.

500 Days of Summer

I haven't been a big fan of Zooey Deschanel. I came across her in 2005/6 and she was SO pretty. Didn't find her completely attractive as an actress mainly because she looked stiff in motion!? Then I saw Yes Man on the plane, not sure if that was my first Deschanel film, but I automatically fell in love with her. It was her eyes and qurkiness. I swear I like her before Surf's Up, Yes Man and the She & Him music.

Sunshine Cleaning

Have been wanting to see it since Sundance 2008. Reason: Emily Blunt and Amy Adams!!!! Looks really interesting too.

Other films to check out:
The Limits of Control Reason: Tilda Swinton
The Girl on the Train Reason: Interesting-looking?
Mysterious Skin Reason: ~Intriguing~ only for the 18+ though :'(
A lot of them look good as well - the complete list.

Highly doubt I'll end up seeing these two in the cinema. Last year I was planning to see Happy-Go-Lucky in this festival and finally saw it at the start of this year. I'll probably either download/rent/buy these two above.

you were stroking me like a pet, but you didn't own me yet.

thanks to school suspension, i sleep at 8 and get up at 5 now! yep, a.m. and p.m. respectively... for this summer holiday, i have goals (more like had cos i know i could never fulfill them now) as always, which i will list later.

i spent around 3 hours decluttering my room. 3 hours but no visible progress apart from now you can actually see the opposite coast when you're sitting on the windowsill. ok i'm exaggerating. it wasn't that bad at first. you can always see kowloon.

i found stuff that i never thought that i owned, including a lovely keyring we bought in paris disneyland, a.p.c. mobile strap thing, old framed photographs. it was funny how 8 drawers would store such valuable memories. i also found some illustrations/paintings/drawings i did 2 years ago. I DO MISS ART CLASS! i don't regret that i haven't taken igcse art and design cos i can't be arsed to do sketching every weekend. actually, the thing i miss is my art teacher. i like her whereas everybody doesn't. there's also one special thing about the atmosphere - a weird mix of cold air-conditioning, acrylic paint, pastels (strange cos no one ever uses them) and smell of rust/old water from the taps. i used to make amazing crafts as a kid. my mother said i could draw too. i guess i should really start making some art. i may become the next picasso/van gogh/king of kowloon.

GOALS (that can never be met)
- do past papers!!!!!
- revise things taught last year
- make french notebooks and flashcards
- sell things online
- get off that fucking computer and buy the sims 3 (i'm not one of those who jump on the bandwagon and start playing the sims like 4 seconds ago. i started when there was only ~the sims~, yes, sims 1) and install it
- lose 10 pounds (only skinny people can lose weight successfully. TRUFAX. not me)
- watch 10 films
- go ice-skating
- go to the cinema
- tba
- tba
- ...

but honestly, in this heat, i don't want to do nothing.
